Foot diseases and treatments
November 19, 2008
Foot swelling, pain, difficulty walking and soreness are all symptoms that lead to foot disease and infections. If you suffer from any of them, it is time to pay some extra attention to your feet. Foot diseases can infect people of every age, so old age is not an excuse.
Also foot diseases, if neglected, can lead to severe cases like amputation of the foot. These are rare cases but prevention is always the best option. Feet are both strong and sensitive parts of our body. They carry our body weight throughout the day but when over burdened they become extremely weak and get swollen.
Feet need to be tended to as they get infected in bad weather. If it is too cold the blood circulation is slowed and the feet tend to get numb. The nails harden and turn blue. This is due to a lack of oxygen. In such cases, frequent massaging and warm socks would provide the desired temperature. Similarly in hot weather, feet get dry and itch severely and redness and soreness is common.
Fungal infections are also quite common as fungus grows in dampness, making the infection more severe and unbearable. Fungal infections should be taken seriously and treatment should be taken as the fungal infections take a lot of time to heal.
