Itching and soreness are two symptoms which are dealt with very casually. However, the truth is that even a minor itch can end up infecting the foot. Fungal diseases are rather common, simply because all they need is a moist and damp environment. Fungus infections spread quite quickly, almost like multiplication.
Moreover, our feet are exposed to dust, moisture, socks, tight footwear and many other things that can lead to fungal infections. Though fungal infections do not appear instantly, itching, redness and soreness are common symptoms. Even the pain is not felt initially, which makes it difficult to detect.
Fungal infections can leave the feet sore, red and cracked. From the sole of the foot to the toe nails, fungal diseases can occur anywhere. Fungal infections, most of time are contracted at public places. This is because the foot is in direct contact with wetness, dust or dampness.
In fact, a damp and moist climate is favourable for fungal infections, which is why one needs to pay special attention in these conditions. Some simple tips for preventing fungal infections are changing socks, avoiding exchange of footwear and socks and applying foot cream or foot powder. Physical hygiene is extremely important for preventing fungal infections. In case the fungal infections become severe, one must consult a doctor (skin specialist) immediately. This helps in both cure and fast recovery. Fungal infections take time for healing therefore patience is a must.
