Athlete’s foot is one of the most common foot skin infections that are generally caused due to the growth of fungus. Fungus growth takes place rapidly in warm and moist climates. Therefore athlete’s foot, or any another skin infection for that matter, infects you when you come in direct contact with it in such conditions. Some of the common places where fungus finds it easy to thrive are locker rooms, gyms, the poolside etc.

Athlete’s foot is not really easy to detect. They have various common foot problems as their symptoms, which may not always be taken seriously by us. Itching and burning are two of the symptoms of athlete’s foot. Besides this, you may also experience cracking and pain along with mild bleeding. There are certain people who do not show any symptoms even after being infected by the disease.

Athlete’s foot can be treated with the help of your doctor. There are many methods in which you can treat your foot, the common ones being the use of medication or natural oils that will work against the fungus. In order to prevent further growth of the fungus so that your case of athlete’s foot does not turn into a serious one, you should take care of your feet in a proper way.

It is advisable for you to wear footwear that will give you some sort of ventilation so that sweat and warmth are kept away. Besides this also make sure to keep your feet clean at all times, no matter where you are. Avoid sharing anything with people who are already infected with the disease because the fungus can spread to you also.
