Verruca warts add to your discomfort

January 21, 2009

Verruca warts are a certain type of wart that occurs mainly on the soles of your feet. These warts are like any other warts that occur on your body. The only difference between ordinary warts and verrucas are that verruca warts are flat and round in shape. This is mainly because since they are on the soles, most of your body pressure is applied on them which tends to flatten them.

Verruca warts occur on people of all ages. With children, these warts are generally small black dots that tend to cluster around a single spot. They are generally not painful. Verruca warts if not treated in time can increase in infection, causing serious problems along with a lot of pain.

Verruca warts though contagious do not spread easily, but if you have cracks on your feet or even open wounds, you are more prone to getting the infection. In order to avoid verruca warts, you have to be careful about the way you treat your feet. If possible make sure you wear some sort of footwear when you are in warm and moist areas. Avoid sharing your footwear with others as this increases the risk of infection.

Verruca warts can stay on your feet for long periods of time. If painful, these warts need to be treated so that you are saved from trouble and discomfort at all times. There are a variety of methods for treating verruca warts. The most common treatment that people opt for are natural treatments as they are less painful when compared to others.
